hello again.
i am boarding a horse at an awsome place....and our trainer was working with my daughter and our horse (a rescue) and its just not working out. She has come alone way and we have learned alot from this horse but...if you ask her to do something she doesnt want to or bothers her....she acts out and either kicks at you or now has started to buck. bucked with my daughter on her and then the trainer right after that. she gets corrected properly right then and there, but.....
i come to find recently she has/had trouble with her knees.
told the rescue about it not working out and that she is for more an advanced rider or if something is indeed wrong with her knees maybe a pasture mate for other horses cause she is very friendly with other horses....i was told by someone emailing me maybe she could be a shadow mom to baby horses or younger horses or something. that would be perfect cause she is friendly, just unpredictable when ridden or asked to do to much.
i do not need a horse right off the bat if i do not find the right one.
i am more then willing to take lessons and the kids keep taking lessons for a while until we are not total beginners abymore, but i am also up for replacing the mare i have for one that may teach us and love us and wanna go with us and show with the girls, etc....beach rides, trails, possibly 4H later on too.
our trainer wants to take us all out and do that kind of stuff with us.
she is awsome....the whole family is. very nice and friendly and work with us...we love it there.
like i said if the right one comes along, i would love to buy....if its soon i may need to make a few payments until paid off as we are military but....people have to be willing to work with us on that...cut us some slack and a good deal and no BS about the horse being good and sound and kid safe etc...then months later come to find after me doing research on it...like i did this one...that it has problems and had issues before, been in rescues since 2003 on and off that i found out about, etc...and now has or had bad knees....
grrrrrrrrr.
now wonder why she bucks when asked to do certain things...if her legs bother her during flare ups or something...but still....this is not the match for us.

i am willing to lease....or just continue to take lessons for a while...thats not a problem, i can do that at the barn i am at now...we do take our lessons there too, but like i said if i find one around us...maybe one we are all not aware of....a diamond in the rough or something...that would be awsome. or a friend of a friend of a friend who has an awsome one with no issues or health or feet or lef issues...lol..that we dont know about or not advertised.

i do not know where the cranbury place is...or the auctions...i would go look but how healthy are they and how much more money would have to be put into it and would there be trust issues??? but i am willing to go look....
our trainer goes with me to see all horses, she rides them and inspects them and tells me yes or no. she comes with the package when i look....:)
gotta be safe.
went out tonight to look at a few.....was not suitable....very sweet but not the one/s for us.
anyone is welcome to email me privately with pics and info on horses you have, that would be awsome.
i am staying at the barn i am at....not going to lease from another barn...i would want it where i would board....they are awsome to us and we love it there.
i even go out there just to relax and soak in some country...lol.

thanks to all...thanks for the great advice.

****sigh**** i do have to send my adopted one back though....breaks my heart but.....i needed her to be sound and safe and be able to trail and show and stuff....but if she cant do it....she needs a more suitable home...its not her fault.
we have learned alot from her....well i have...my daughter already knew some stuff before i got this horse.....but i have learned some groundwork with her and thats awsome. still sad though.

let me know bout the ones you all mentioned in the other posts that might be beginner safe.....remember no BS. i am cut throat type and tell it like it is and dont need to be lied to...if you say the horse is scared of a hose or whatever thats fine , stuff like that can be worked on...but i do need to know...cause my kids work with them too and i need to know this stuff. i hate finding out months later that it has issues when your trying to use the horse.
just be honest.
tell me upfront before i come looking too cause i dont wanna waste anyones time.
:)
have a great night everyone.....email me pics and info if you like.
we are near the military bases in 08015/08641 zip.
byeeeeeeeee...:)
