Agreed - which is why I chose Mannhattan to a well bred TB mare with great bloodlines as well as went so far as to ensure that she will be accepted into the Oldenberg Mare book (by contacting some people on the breed assn board and sending conformation shots and bloodlines). You can also Google Mannhattan Oldenberg Stallion (yes, two n's in Mann) for a full list of his credentials, all the associations he has been accepted in, as well as details on his 100d test scores, offspring (the dressage champion Morocco is one of them) and how he's literally among the best of the best in WB breeding.

To date I have NOT BRED anything is an accurate statement....if and when I choose to breed my mare is up to me - my contract allows me several years to do so.

And glad to hear we agree (again) in the idea of regulations/licensing. Not many people would go so far as to ensure that their mare will be approved, have several breeding experts (contacted several with incredible credentials) review the mare/stallion combination, discuss with a vet who is a breeding expert, and take all the steps to ensure that the baby will be well bred, has the best chances of being conformationally correct, and so on. (note: when I do breed, the baby will not be for sale but as personal performance horse for competition).

I'd LOVE if there was a way to make sure some of the steps & precautions and research I've done were mandated to ensure that the market isn't getting flooded with poor quality horses.
