Again, not here to argue, nor have I ever claimed to be an authority on breeding. I appreciate the opportunity to further clarify that have I never bred a horse that I owned nor do I intend to do so for sale. I personally am not a rescue, I have personal horses. Breeding is a part of the horse industry and everyone is entitled to their opinions and I'm sure that everyone is happy that you have been kind enough to share yours, though no one here (at least not me) is looking for a debate.

If no one ever bred, you'd be diluting the gene pool and wind up with less and less quality horses. We need to stop the low-end poor quality breeding and work to promote the top horses and perpetuate their bloodlines to increase the quality of the gene pool. I'm all for rescues as I am a part of a rescue (my own personal horses are entirely separate), but I also understand the importance of breeding QUALITY not quantity as long as you are responsible and educated breeder. I'd love to see a program instilled at the national level that requires breeders to be licensed or some other way of managing who breeds and why.

I wish you the best of luck with your well bred, registered papered paint, as that in itself is a clear example of the purpose of breeding quality horses when there are people that will purchase them.
