| Hi I have been away. first are you doing the pills, and how many and for how long?I know all vets can be different. if the IV therapy, then you may get a better response, but if your horse was they are worse first then get better. My horse went undiagnosed for a year as when he was having active symptoms thats when I tried to get help, I had so many vet calls and differnt ideas of what was wrong, basically bute him,or stall for a week and see how he is,or an abcess is brewing etc.. I still get angry..he would be sleeping,so tired laying down all the time you could put a lead line on and pull and tug and he would not get up.. anyhow approx. a year later when sypmtoms were gone as I described, but I still had the offness...it was large joint mainly hocks, I feel he could have arthiritc hips. I did have a hock x-ray at 6 yrs old and he had arthiritis..well he came around but following spring had a relapse the vet thought..he could hardly walk one day and his joints were hot and swollen.. I had an acupunturist that took a hair sample and based on that prescribed over the counter tinctures and supplements. The immune system should be targeted, so any decent supplement for that, also probiotics as the antibiotic therapy will disturb their gut for sure...to gain weight, beet pulp...if low energy, have you done a cbc to check for any abnormal resutls such as anemia?anyhow you can call me if you like let me know I iwll leave my number ps what was your horses test result Titer count? mine was 10,000 |
