NJ dept of Ag
Posted by: hhh Date posted: 04/06/2008 05:48:58 PM
We need to try to help! All of you that have horses here in NJ know that the hay has been scarce the past few years with the weather not cooperating, and it's been hard enough to get through the year. What are we going to do if all of the farmers leave NJ? With the fuel and fertilizer prices going up, hay and grain are getting expensive enough. We all know horses are not cheap to care for. But what will we do if the farmers all go elsewhere, and we have to ship hay in? Feed and board prices will skyrocket, if any of the horse farms can afford to stay with that mountain ahead of them! The Dept of Ag does a lot more than help farmers, when a friend of mine had contact with a rabid animal the only people who knew what steps to take were from there. No one else had any idea. Please go to the nj farm bureau site to see what can be done. Our horses will thank us for keeping them fed and happy!
