Bank your bedding...ALOT....halfway up the wall if need be...also, use the coarse bedding (red and white bags). Make sure that you have 8 - 12 inches of base bedding. The "stall mattress" systems are comfy and give a little more "push" on the way up, but still need to be bedded up or else they absorb odors. We have an older pony that has a severly injured knee which is splinted and he gets up well with the banked bedding.
