Need opinion on my own barn

Hi - I"m looking for some straight forward opinions on this. I've been riding and involved with horses all my life. My 2 daughters ages 6 and 4 are also showing an interest in them and started to ride. We live on 20 acres and my husband just told me we could afford to build our own small barn and do our own "thing". Currently I just lease a horse at a near by farm and ride about 3 days a week. My heart tells me to jump on this opportunity and do it but my brain says it's not practical and that I don't have the time to put into it. I'd like feedback from other parents that are doing the same thing and how they manage...
