Old horse needs soft mats with better traction to get up

I have an old horse that has a lot of trouble getting up after lying down in his stall. I have had to take the stall mats out so he can dig his hoof into the dirt and get a grip in order to stand up. I have been told there are some other types of stall mats that are softer and have more traction, but I can not find out what brand they are. Does anypone know of a stall mat that is soft or is easier for the horse to dig into when he tries to stand up?
