RE: RE: I don't blame lack of slaughter facilities

Actually I believe that many people have been breeding horses FOR slaughter, what else explains all the cases of 50+ horses who were out in some field with no barn and now they are suddenly being confinscated by the ASPCA because they are starving? Why else would someone have 50 some horses and be living in a trailer in KY? They aren't worth the cost to feed them since the slaughter of horses for human consumption in the US has been stopped. Think about the numbers....in the grand scheme of things 100,000 horses going to slaughter in the US isn't really a whole lot of horses. Ask the posters here if they have ever sent a horse to slaughter. On another very busy board with people from all over, some real kill your dinner yourself mountain women, only ONE person said they sent their horse to slaughter in one of those three US plants. Many took their horse to the local rendering plant to have it put down, but only ONE person out of a busy board admitted their horse of 13 years was sent to a mass production horse slaughter house. So something doesn't make sense. We've protected the Mustangs from the mass genocide in the 70's who used to be the ones in the chute for dog food. Public out cry made that stop and I think this is when Horsemeat by Alpo ceased to exist.

If anything I hope I've given you some questions to ponder.......
